Escuela Delengua teaches Spanish in a typical Andalusian building in the heart of the Albaicín, with more than 25 years of experience. Its group course runs from 10:00 to 13:30; its private lessons and DELE/SIELE preparation take place before 10:00 or after 13:30, so an au pair can study around a full childcare week.

A childcare week of 25 to 30 hours leaves little room for a fixed timetable. The school gives you an order of preference.

Which course suits an au pair in Granada?
The school’s order: first the intensive group course, if you are free from 10:00 to 13:30; then private lessons of 45 or 60 minutes, before 10:00 or after 13:30; then DELE/SIELE preparation, 1 h 30 a day, at the same hours. If your children are not at school from 10:00 to 13:30, choose private lessons.
How much does it cost?
The intensive group course is €190 the first week, then a little less. A 45-minute private class is €27 (pack of 5: €130, pack of 10: €250); a 60-minute class is €36 (pack of 5: €175, pack of 10: €340). DELE/SIELE preparation is €180 a week. Private lessons have no enrolment fee. The school has no special au pair rate.
Can I join the intensive group course?
Yes, if your children are at school from 10:00 to 13:30. It has 20 classes a week in the middle of the morning. If you mind children at home or do the school-run late, choose private lessons instead.
How many hours can I work if I study?
In Spain, au pair tasks are capped at 5 hours a day, with at least one full free day a week. A lesson is not childcare time: agree your lesson times with your host family in the placement agreement before you book.
Can I take the SIELE exam at the school?
Yes. Escuela Delengua is a SIELE examination centre and can hold the exam on the date you prefer, in the afternoon, so it does not clash with your childcare.
Is the school recognised for visa procedures?
Escuela Delengua is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes. That is a quality accreditation for the courses. We have found no rule making a Cervantes-accredited school mandatory for the au pair visa or the NIE, and the school does not issue the NIE. Ask the school for a written enrolment confirmation and check with your Spanish consulate which documents it requires.
Can I start in the middle of the year?
Yes. Classes start every Monday of the year. The school is closed from 21 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, and from 20 December 2027 to 2 January 2028.
